Hello, all you ghouls, ghosts and goblins! It’s my favorite time of year, Halloween, when we are given the OK to dress up in crazy costumes and be spirited for a while. My daughter, Kayla, has been craving the Halloween season and we were happy to go into a Walmart-like store in Chile and find a small corner of holiday treats and a handful of costumes. They definitely do not go all out like the U.S. to celebrate this creepy evening. But, the tradition is slowly building and some of the kids do partake in trick-or-treating.
Kayla, Scott and I are actually going to be in Guatemala for Halloween and Dias de Los Muertos. So, I am very excited to see what customs they do to honor the dead. We have our sugar skull costumes ready to roll and Kayla is going to be our personal makeup artist. You’re never too old to be playful!
So, in preparation for this festive occasion, we’re going to have a little creepy yoga fun, if there is such a thing, in this week’s Yoga with Meditation Mutha – Halloween Edition! This 19-minute FREE Hatha Yoga Class will get you in the holiday spirit with some black cats, mummies, a Frankenstein and even a full moon. The class will leave you lighthearted and ready to take on any monsters that come your way on the big night.
Stay tuned at the end of the video to see a short clip on how to make homemade cuts and gashes to liven up your costume, courtesy of Kayla Goyette. Happy Halloween!
Yoga with Meditation Mutha is for every BODY. I hope you will join me in some mischievous amusement as we open our hearts to good humor!
