    Opening to Universal Flow – Yoga with Meditation Mutha

    It is a very exciting time in our family. My daughter is going into her senior year of high school and we have been exploring different options for college. Just like any teenager her age, she is very confused by all of the choices and does not have any idea on the direction she wants to head.

    During our conversation to narrow down universities by location, size and program offerings she expressed a sense of overwhelm. She shared with me that she felt like everyone else knew exactly where they wanted to go and what they wanted to do for the rest of their lives.

    I chuckled, knowing the reality and told her my own personal story of how I randomly picked University of Massachusetts because they did not require me to take an additional language class. That choice sent me on a journey to study environmental science, which I never applied to a career. Instead, I went on to graduate school for exercise science. After graduation, I fell into a sales job and made that my career for 20 years before transitioning to my yoga business.

    We all have our own story of how we ended up in this very moment. The universe usually has a much bigger plan for us than we can imagine. All we need to do when making decisions is to tune into how each choice feels in our body and mind. By taking just a few minutes to sit quietly and contemplate the options, you will naturally be drawn to one over the others. I find that once I make my decision, if all of the pieces easily fall into place then it was the correct choice. This practice allows me to align with my intended journey and brings me into the natural flow of the universe.
