Living in Vacation Mode – Yoga with Meditation Mutha

I just got back from an incredible week teaching yoga in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.  In between classes twice per day, my good friend Ivona and I took full advantage of all of the fun activities provided by Club Med Punta Cana Resort

We spent our days sailing and kayaking on the crystal blue water, working off all of the delicious meals in endless exercise classes viewing the ocean, watching the fabulous entertainment and dancing the night away.  In addition, we spent plenty of time lounging on the white sand beach enjoying the sun our our skin.

By the second day of our stay, I was fully unwound from the stresses back home and in total vacation mode.  I could feel my mind and body relax as I released all responsibilities and just enjoyed being in my beautiful surroundings.

We have all felt that calming sensation we get when we are on vacation.  Our body goes into rest and digest mode, our blood pressure drops, our breathing slows and we are able to be in the present moment.  The absence of stress and anxiety is the healthiest state of existence.

It is possible to bring this relaxed feeling home with you after your vacation is over.  All it takes is awareness and self-regulation of your emotions to maintain a calm state.

There are many tools you can use to keep yourself in vacation mode including breath work, meditation and yoga.  Need a little help moving yourself from stress to ease?  Please scroll down and join me in this week’s short 8 minute class, Relaxing Yoga for Stress Relief and let your worries melt away!

This week’s 8-minute floor yoga class, Yoga for Stress and Anxiety, is perfect for when you need to calm your nervous system quickly. Through postures like child’s pose and gentle twists, we will relax the body and mind so you can feel grounded and centered. Yoga with Meditation Mutha is for everyBODY.
