Yahooey! We made it back to Austin…home sweet home. After living out of a suitcase for a year, it feels so good to put my things in a draw and sleep in my own bed. Although, the first few nights I woke up totally disoriented and thought I was in a hotel.
I love everything about Austin. The earthy smell of the summer air, P. Terry’s Hamburgers, BBQ and reliable WiFi have made my heart sing. And I absolutely enjoyed spending the day barefoot gardening in my back yard and reconnecting with all my plants.
We are so happy to be back in familiar territory surrounded by all our friends and family. And we could not have made this trip a reality without YOU.
I want to send a huge dose of gratitude to my wonderful parents and brother and my incredible neighbor, Mike, who helped us man the ship while we were away. And a special thank you goes out to our property manager, Sam Pritchard with Harrison Pearson, who secured the perfect tenants for our home. And with that, I want to send so much gratitude to Tricia and Ron for treating our house like their own.
To all my soul sisters who talked me down from a ledge during the challenging times and cheered us on during the extraordinary times, I love ya. And to the endless amount of people who sent us well wishes and prayers for a safe journey, including a Native American Chief, we are so grateful.
In addition, we have met countless people on our journey who have assisted us in arriving to our destinations safely. And we have tons of appreciation to all the strangers and new friends who opened their hearts and homes to a bunch of Texans in a foreign land.
People have been asking us how we accomplished a year-long adventure around the world. And all I can say is it takes a community. Think about how many people are involved in bringing you your morning cup of coffee and you quickly realize that we did not do this trip alone. We are all so very dependent on each other. There is no getting around it. We need each other to survive and thrive.
So cheers to YOU, for contributing to this immense experience and for continuing to touch our lives on a daily basis!
