Scott and I are just finishing an incredible adventure in beautiful Bali. I feel so honored to be a part of the inspirational Big Picture Retreat and spend the week surrounded by a powerful group of people.
In addition to the island being absolutely gorgeous, I fell in love with the way the Balinese people weave their mindful Hindu practices into every aspect of their lives. Their cultural ritual to make daily offerings of flowers and sweets with pure intention to show love towards their dieties and nature, is just one example of how they blend meaning into everything they do. Even their word for thank you, suksma, means from the soul.
And their purposeful presence is consistent with everyone you meet. We took a taxi ride from the airport to our resort. The driver was very friendly and talkative describing his family and explaining the culture to us. He said that he was 72-years old and I mentioned how young and healthy he looked. He replied, “The reason why I look so young is because I love myself”. I thought his words were very profound and they stuck with me throughout our trip.
Our billions of cells are constantly regenerating so much so that we are literally a new physical being every seven years. If this is true, can you imagine who we can become if each cell is born into a world of self love, compassion and acceptance? Ponder that one for a minute…
This week’s 18-minute FREE Hatha Yoga Class, Yoga for Developing Self Love, is all about transforming your internal environment towards a feeling of self-acceptance and self-nurturing. Through floor asana, breath work, meditation and visualization we will create a foundation for self-love to flow.
