I remember towards the end of my career in corporate America, I was working 12-hour days sitting in front of a computer grinding away at writing proposals. It seemed like I spent all the daylight hours under florescent lighting and left my desk after the sun had sunk below the horizon. I felt like a caged animal.
By the time the weekend arrived, I sensed this incredible desire to get outside in the sun. Actually, it was more like a primal calling to dig my bare feet in the ground and roll around in the dirt. The sensation to connect with nature was so strong that it seemed like I would die if I did not escape the confounds of the indoors and release to the freedom of an open air space.
Luckily, I have a beautiful back yard backed up to a green space where I can find tons of opportunity to interact with the natural world. And, if it wasn’t for my next door neighbors in such close proximity, you would probably find me back there running around naked plucking weeds and frolicking with my flowers. Ahhhh! Mother Nature energizes my soul.
If you are a systematic person, you will appreciate the fact that there is scientific proof that you can revive your own personal energy from the infinite power of the earth. Just get outdoors and walk around in a park or your yard barefoot for a few minutes and you will experience the enhancement of your energy and mood within minutes. Mother Earth is a huge resource we can use to amplify our vibration.
This week’s 29-minute Hatha Yoga Class, Yoga for Grounding in Earth’s Energy, is all about elevating your own personal vibration by tapping into the earth’s powerful energy.
