A Journey in Gratitude – Yoga with Meditation Mutha

I am in Tanzania, Africa holding a Yoga and Safari Retreat and it has been an eight year dream come true. In 2015 my family and I had the opportunity to go on a safari in South Africa with our friends. I thought to myself, “I would love to hold a yoga and safari retreat”, but the logistics felt too overwhelming.

Flash forward to a year ago, I received a random email from the fabulous Gabriele Brown, who takes people on safari adventures through her company Urth Expedition. She had read Just Plane Crazy, the book I wrote about traveling around the world, found out I was a yoga instructor and wanted to know if I would like to hold a yoga and safari retreat with her.

Of course my answer was “Lets do this!” and that was the beginning of a long time manifestation in the making.

And now, as I write this blog, I am smack in the middle of living my dream. The natural beauty and interaction with the wild animals we have encountered on this adventure has gone beyond my wildest visions. There are no words to express the emotions you feel when you are just a few feet away from a pride of eight lions, witness a mama leopard playing with her cubs, observe a baby zebra zooming around in circles with excitement, look up into a tree and see a cheetah sleeping on a branch or pause in awe of a herd of elephants passing by.

Today, I complete 50 loops around the sun. As I reflect on the incredible abundance in my life I have so much gratitude for all the people who have crossed my path, resources and opportunities that support my journey and love I have in my life.

I am especially grateful to Gabriele for reaching out to me and all of the retreat attendees who have shared in my dream come true!
