Tuning into Self-Care – Yoga with Meditation Mutha

The other day I woke up with my hands totally cramped and a crick in my neck. I have a feeling both symptoms are related to the excessive typing on my computer and texting on my phone I have been doing over the past week.

Marketing my self-published book, Just Plane Crazy! The Ultimate Guide to Affordable, Adventurous World Travel, just about pushed me over my limit with social media interactions. My fingers went numb with every click of the mouse and I developed a temporary case of texters’ thumb from typing so many notes. Who knew that self-promoting a book could be so hazardous to your healthy!

Luckily, I had the awareness to tune into a little self-care and take action before the damage became permanent. Taking time to pause and notice how your body is feeling throughout the day will prevent a doctor’s visit down the road.

If you have been a typing warrior lately, you will appreciate this week’s yoga class.

YOGA FOR OPENING WRISTS AND HANDS

This week’s 14-minute Hatha Yoga Class, Yoga for Opening Wrists and Hands, is all about addressing carpal tunnel symptoms before they become long-term damage. Through postures that open the entire line of the upper body from the palm, inner arm, shoulder and chest, we will create space to be proactive and counteract overuse from typing on the computer or phone. Yoga with Meditation Mutha is for everyBODY. Please join me in this opportunity to prevent permanent injury to the hands and wrists. Enjoy!
