The other day a big storm was coming in, so I went outside to roll down our patio umbrella. I grabbed a small outside chair to move it under our table and that’s when I felt it; a pop in my low back. Apparently I must have picked it up in poor form, because I immediately felt a radiating pain around my SI joint.
I went inside to rest, feeling totally unstable in my low back. The next day I woke up so stiff and had to skip running and weight lifting. For the next two days I massaged and stretched the area hoping to find some relief.
Then, Thursday came, my night to go out salsa dancing. I could not miss one of my favorite things to do, so I popped some Advil and headed out the door to dance non-stop for several hours. Bad mistake, as I could barely move the next day.
But, as Saturday night rolled around I did not learn my lesson and could not resist attending an ecstatic dance event and a two stepping dance opportunity on Sunday. They were both so fun in the moment, but I payed for my foolishness in the days to come.
