Relieving SI (Sacroiliac) Joint Pain – Yoga with Meditation Mutha

Ever feel a twinge in your back that turns into painful muscle spasms? That is exactly what happened to me after sitting on an airplane for several hours on our way back from Costa Rica. I woke up the next day and could barely move.

As I surveyed my body, I realized the tight sensation was not stemming from my back, but more from my SI (sacroiliac) joint. This can happen when your hips are out of alignment and you start to feel pressure on either the right or left side where the spine connects with the hips. The sensation can be excruciating and very debilitating.

When this happens, it is important to traction out the spine and create space in the SI Joint to relieve pressure and reset the hips. If you are currently experiencing any sacroiliac joint pain or just want to be proactive, then please join me for this week’s floor yoga class, Yoga to Relieve SI Joint Pain and start releasing discomfort.
