Each one of us has a shadow side. Our heavier emotions such as anger, fear, jealousy, anxiety and overwhelm make up this darker part of ourselves which we often try to hide from others.
The challenge is when we suppress these emotions they get trapped in our body and can manifest into physical and mental ailment. Emotions are just energy in motion. They are not a tangible thing as we often like to believe. They are meant to be acknowledged, processed and released from the body.
Darker emotions are very powerful. When processed intentionally, they can be transformed into highly productive energy that can inspire change and growth.
Many people have an aversion to working with these emotions. I can attest to not expressing my anger and frustration for many years due to my fear of confrontation. Over time, I noticed my throat constricting every time I did not voice my thoughts. I ended up experiencing challenges with my thyroid because I developed blocked energy in my throat chakra.
