Maintaining Healthy Gut Flora – Yoga with Meditation Mutha

    maintaining healthy gut flora

I have been getting into such a good routine of running, lifting, maintaining healthy gut flora, and a little yoga to balance my body. In addition, I have been trying to do some intermittent fasting to allow my gut time to rest and my body has been responding really well to this regimen.

I even got out Thanksgiving morning to do an unofficial Turkey Trot with my brother and brother-in-law. I always love doing a run the day of this holiday because then I don’t feel guilty feasting on all the goodies. Yes, I have a pumpkin pie weakness and ate four slices in one sitting! It’s fun to indulge every once in a while. Although my gut paid the price the next day.

Whether you overate during a holiday meal or your digestion is feeling off for another reason, it is so important to balance your gut to maintain good health throughout your life. Surprisingly, 90% of your serotonin (the feel-good hormone) is produced by your belly, not your brain. Therefore, healthy elimination is essential for a happy body and mind.
