Self Care During Your Period – Yoga with Meditation Mutha

Getting your period is a very special time in a woman’s life. It represents the transition from child to adult, welcoming the opportunity to create life. Throughout different cultures, starting your moon cycle is celebrated as an inauguration into womanhood and honored through ceremony and ritual.

Menstruation connects women to the flow of nature as we align our goddess energies with the cycles of the moon. Although there are many beautiful aspects of getting your period, the monthly shifts of energies also comes with its challenges.

Many women experience cramps, bloating, low back pain, agitation and mood swings before and/or during their moon cycle. Therefore, it is imperative that every woman tunes into exactly what they need during that time to bring ease to these symptoms.

Menstruation is Mother Nature’s way of telling women to slow down and do less. It is an opportunity for extreme self care and nourishment. It is a time to eat what you crave, take a hot bath, get a massage and rest more instead of pushing through the discomfort.
