My husband Scott and I have been traveling all over Costa Rica for the past two weeks. We had the opportunity to teach our 10th annual retreat at the beautiful Anamaya Resort and then headed over to an all-inclusive resort near Playa del Coco for some relaxation.
It’s peak travel season and everyone seems more ready than ever to get the heck out of town. People are hopping on planes and hitting the road in droves to head to exotic destinations. Vacations are an essential part of maintaining good mental health, especially after the crazy year we all endured.
Along with relaxing the mind, getaways also release tension in the body. Taking time to wind down from the daily grind is imperative for overall well-being.
But, long plane or car rides can leave your body feeling tight. It is important to be mindful of what your body needs after an extensive travel day to prevent injury, so you can truly enjoy your vacation.
This week’s yoga class is sure to help you let go of any of your travel tensions, so you can enjoy your trip. Happy vacationing!
This week’s 23-minute Floor Yoga Class, Yoga for Releasing Travel Tension, is all about releasing tension in the low back and hips, which is often accumulated when you travel. Long car or plane rides can throw us out of alignment. Through postures like Pigeon Pose and gentle lower spine resistance postures, we will create space and bring our bodies back into alignment. Yoga with Meditation Mutha is for everyBODY. Please join me in this opportunity for a little self-care before, during or after you travel. Enjoy!
