We have had some chilly mornings in Texas the past couple of days. The kind that make you want to stay in bed in your fluffy jammies and snuggle under the blankets.
That being said, Kayla, Scott and I have had a hard time mustering up the energy to start our day. But, there’s one being in our house who has no problem flipping the on switch at the crack of dawn. As soon as the alarm rings, it’s go time for Jimmy Kibble, our puppy.
He’s trained himself to race into Kayla’s bedroom at the sound of the ding and cover her with energetic kisses. He then takes a vigorous lap around the house and leaps on our bed with a nose to nose greeting as if to say “Are you ready for this fabulous day?!?!?!”. What a wonderful way to enter into the morning, feeling ecstatic that you are alive to experience another day.
And when we walk in the door from being gone only 30-minutes, Jimmy sprints over to us, wiggling from head to toe with pure joy to see us. He howls with delight at our mere presence and proceeds with a 10-minute celebration to honor our arrival. Imagine receiving that type of welcome home and recognition from your roomies every time you entered the house.
How would that make you feel? Albeit, maybe a little freaked out. But, also it might make you feel that you are a truly appreciated member of the family. Wow, so powerful!
Jimmy Kibbs reminds me that it is so important to weave gratitude into every aspect of your life. An intentional practice of gratitude first thing when you wake, plants a seed for great things to happen through out the day. Giving thanks for all the little things in your life attracts more abundance. And closing the day reflecting on all the gifts that surround you is the perfect way to doze off into a peaceful state.
This week’s 21-minute FREE Floor Yoga Class, Yoga for Pure Gratitude, is all about providing intentional attention to the gift that is YOU. Through asana, visualization, breath work and meditation, you will be given the opportunity to recognize that a little gratitude goes a long way.
Yoga with Meditation Mutha is for everyBODY. Please join me in this opportunity to give thanks to your vessel and the spirit that is housed within. Enjoy! #yogawithmeditationmutha#meditationmutha
Speaking of gratitude, I am so grateful to Travis Sherry with the “Extra Pack of Peanuts” podcast. Scott and I had such a fun time being interviewed about our year-long trip around the world. He caught us at the very tail end of the adventure and captured a lot of emotion and reflection about our journey. If you ever thought of taking some time off for long term travel or you’re interested in learning about some of the hilarious stories that happened along the way, scroll down and click the link to check it out. It’s pretty entertaining! #extrapackofpeanuts #goyetteworldadventure
