After a streak of 80 degree weather, Texas has finally experienced winter this year. A cold front came through dropping the temps into the 20’s and bringing with it some wintery mix of ice and snow.
Two days off from school for a 1/4 inch of frozen precipitation! The northeast is laughing at us right now after getting bombed with two feet of snow. No matter where you live in the northern hemisphere, we are all experiencing the peak of this chilly season.
Just like animals who naturally slow down their metabolism to enter into hibernation, people experience the same reduction in their internal fire to store energy over the winter. You may feel a little sluggish and less motivated during this time of the year.
During caveman days, this was a great tactic to conserve energy while food supplies were at their lowest. Fortunately, in this day and age, we have access to an abundance of sustenance to make it through the cooler season until spring makes a grand entrance again.
