    Supporting Wrists and Arms to Prevent Carpal Tunnel – Yoga with Meditation Mutha

    I can not believe this month marks my ten year anniversary of owning my own yoga business, Meditation Mutha!  The word gratitude does not even begin to express how I feel about the abundance, relationships, connections, opportunities and experiences I have manifested on this journey since leaving corporate America a decade ago.

    I reflect back on my 20-year career in a high pressure sales job and can not imagine ever going back to the overwhelmingly intense environment that encompassed my world on a daily basis.  Twelve hour days on a computer banging out massive proposals for multi-million dollar accounts as the stress of the due date quickly approached is no way to spend your life no matter how good the money. 

    At age 39 I could barely feel my pinky and ring finger from the carpal tunnel that had  developed in my arms due to over-use on the computer.  The tingling sensation spread from my fingers all the way up my forearms and I lost control of my grip.  My health was being effected by my intense conditions and I knew something had to change.

    That is when I decided to take a leap of faith and jump ship to a completely different lifestyle, yoga.  Overtime I worked on gently stretching my arms and wrists to relieve my symptoms.  My reduced time on the computer added to the effectiveness of my self-care and before I knew it my carpal tunnel dissipated!

    If you find yourself on the computer or texting for endless hours you may want to bring your attention to a little preventative self-care.  If you are already experiencing numbing or tingling in your hands and arms then it is time to take action before your condition worsens.
