The holidays are here and it is a time to gather with friends and family for celebration. I definitely indulged in all of the delicious foods during the Thanksgiving festivities.
Eating all of the yummy delicacies that you do not normally consume on a daily basis can slow your digestion down to a snail’s pace. Breads, cheeses and sweets are the perfect combination to bring your digestion to halt. This can cause more than just discomfort. It can bring on irritability.
Ninety percent of serotonin (your happy hormones) are produced in your gut. So, no wonder why people feel agitated when they can’t poop.
Healthy digestion relies on movement to get things going. Exercise shakes up the gut and intestines to stimulate the passage of all things stuck. So, one of the best things you can do after a heavy meal is get outside and go for a walk.
Feeling a little backed up after the holiday meals? Come join me for this week’s Yoga for Healthy Digestion and release what no longer serves you. Enjoy!
