    Relaxation to Increase Health – Yoga with Meditation Mutha

    Taking a vacation provides so many health benefits to the body and the mind. It is a time to disconnect from your mundane routine and stimulate yourself in a different way. Getting out of town provides an opportunity to explore and discover new people, places, food and scenery which elevates your energy and brings excitement into your life.

    Above all this, taking a holiday provides a time for some rest and relaxation. In our day-to-day world we are constantly being bombarded by stimuli from news, social media, and the endless to-do list. These life stresses keep us in fight or flight mode.

    Our real healing occurs when we are in a rest and digest stage. Sometimes we have to take ourselves out of our regular life and plop into some new scenery to switch from on to off. Decompression is key to optimizing the function of our body and mind.

    While in The Maldives last week, my husband Scott and I had the opportunity to sink into pure relaxation while enjoying the crystal blue waters of this beautiful country. Although we kept active partaking in scuba diving, snorkeling and sailing, we totally disconnected from our daily routine to experience deep rejuvenation.

    No matter if it is a week on a tropical island, a weekend getaway or a staycation, do yourself a favor and take some time to reset. Your body and mind will thank you!
