Flowing within the Outline of Your Life

I had the incredible opportunity to connect with a beautiful group of women at the Women’s Weekend Wellness Retreat a few weeks ago.  I am always so grateful for the open hearts and minds that present themselves to provide a powerful collective energy.

Every year, in preparation for the retreat, I create an outline of the discussion topics and how I would like the retreat to flow.  As I was getting ready for this year, I reflected back on the very first retreat I lead and how my mind was so different from then until now.

Five years ago, I wrote out every detail of how I expected every moment to occur throughout the weekend.  And, of course, as all event coordinators knows, things rarely go according to plan.  Back then, diversions in my vision would stump me and send me into a control frizzy trying to get things back on track.

But now, I do things very different.  Instead of developing all the details, I create a general outline and leave lots of room for flow and feedback from my attendees.  This allows me to embrace each change of direction based on the needs of my audience and provides an opportunity to connect more deeply with each individual.

Imagine a life where you developed a general outline of how you wanted things to be, but were totally open to being redirected in which ever way the universe meant for you to go.  Where you didn’t cling to the “bumps in the road” as a disadvantage, but took full advantage of every diversion as an opportunity to grow, learn and serve.

How fulfilling would your life be if you left a little wiggle room for the magic of universal flow to take over???
