Heating Up – Yoga with Meditation Mutha

When I first moved to Austin more than 25 years ago, I would always hear the locals saying “If you don’t like the weather in Texas wait a minute.”

Well, that statement could not have been more true this week. On Wednesday I went for a run with my puppy and was sweating it out in 80 degree temps. I woke up Thursday morning to below freezing and a chance of flurries. A 50 degree fluctuation in just a matter of hours. How crazy is that?

My blood as thinned out in the warm southern environment since moving from the Northeast. So, on the rare day when the temps are in the 30’s, I have a hard time getting warm.

All the blankets, fuzzy socks and warm drinks do nothing for my chilly inner temperature. So, for those working through some of the long winter days, I thought I would share a practice that will heat you up from the inside out.

This week’s 21-minute Hatha Flow Yoga Class, Yoga for Igniting Your Flame, is all about generating internal heat in your core to enliven your energy throughout your body. Using solar plexus stimulating postures such as plank variations and twists, we will rev up our energy and metabolism to spark our life force. Yoga with Meditation Mutha is for everyBODY. Please join me in this opportunity to awaken every cell of your body and mind. Enjoy!
