Residing in a Flow State – Yoga with Meditation Mutha

Athletes, artists and musicians have all experienced being in a flow state while enveloped in their practice of expertise. It is the space you exist in when you are fully present and you have a single pointed focus on the here and now. All external stimuli falls away and you become one with your artform. In this state, creativity and precision come with ease. You are riding on the current of the universe and everything is effortless.

I remember experiencing something similar when this picture was taken. It captured a moment in my life where I felt completely connected to nature and the world around me. It appeared that abundance and opportunity came to me on the current of the breeze. It is an amazing feeling to be in flow.

Although we may not experience this high vibrational state all of the time, being present is actually part of our natural existence. We come into this world being completely connected to universal energy. Unfortunately, we allow all of the external stimuli distract us from our original form.

How do we return to a state-of-flow? One of the simplest tools we can use is our breath. When we bring awareness to our breath cycle, we can slow things down, lengthen the inhale and the exhale, breathe through the nose and come back to the rhythm of the universe.

Would you like an opportunity to put this into practice? Please scroll down and join me for this week’s short Hatha Flow Yoga class, where we will ride each movement on the breath to invite flow into our lives. Enjoy!
