    Bringing Joy into the Holidays – Yoga with Meditation Mutha

    For many people, the holidays are a time to celebrate and engage in festivities, but for some this can be a very challenging time of the year.

    My grandma always seemed to feel blue around the holidays. When I asked her one time when I was younger why she felt so down, she said “Many people go without the means to give even the basics to their families, let alone a big celebration and there are a lot of people who are alone this time of year.” She had a lot of compassion for others.

    Whether you have lost a loved one or you have similar feelings to my grandma, you are not alone if you find yourself a little down-in-the-dumps this season.

    Although this year has been hard with the passing of my dad, I am making efforts to connect with friends and family and do the things I love to bring a little joy into the holidays. It has helped me enjoy the spirit of the holidays.

    If you have not been yourself lately, try doing something that brings a little fun into your life. Maybe watching your favorite silly Christmas movie or cozying up in front of a fire with a warm drink is just the thing to kindle a spark of joy.
