    Manifesting Your Desired Outcome – Yoga with Meditation Mutha

    One good thing about quarantine is that it has motivated my daughter, Kayla, to do more things outside.  One of her big interests over the past few months is transitioning from roller skating in an indoor rink to getting up the nerve to hit the outdoor skate parks.

    I started taking her and her good friend to a downtown park in the late evening after 10 pm when the lights go out and the crowds clear a little.  At first they played around a bit in the half pipe just getting used to the feel of rolling back and forth.  And before you know it, they were reaching the top of the pipe and learning tricks.

    I love seeing the progression in the skills these girls have developed over the past four months.  And their determination to master new competencies has kept them at the park until 1 am most days.  

    The two friends spend most of their time researching how to do different tricks, dreaming about themselves accomplishing their goal and then practicing the skills until the wee hours of the night.  Just last evening I got to witness them reach their ultimate summer goal of dropping into the half pipe.  The excitement was off the charts!

    The girl’s dedication reminds me of a professional athlete’s mindset.  High performers don’t just WISH they could dunk a basketball, throw the winning pass or hit a hole in one.  They spend most of their time visualizing that they have lived that achievement like it has already happened.  The best baseball players don’t get up to bat and think “I HOPE I hit a grand slam”.  They picture their desired outcome in their mind as if it has already occurred and then the energy of the universe takes over to make it happen.

    You see, the universe does not know the difference between your thoughts being real or imagined.  Whatever you focus on grows and eventually the universe makes it a reality.  So, be careful where you center your attention.This week’s FREE 16-minute Hatha Flow Yoga Class, Yoga for Manifesting Your Desired Outcome, is all about using visualization as if you have ALREADY accomplished something to bring it to fruition.
