The past two weeks have been a big challenge on my physical, mental and emotional body. I have had to support a lot of people by having hard conversations and at the same time processing my own emotions. It’s been a huge energy drain to say the least.
Luckily my friend Lisa and I had planned a trip to Cancun a while back to celebrate her birthday. Our vacation was quickly approaching so I called her to check in.
She expressed the same emotional exhaustion I was experiencing due to her current situation. We agreed that we were both ready to get the F–K out of town!
We took off last Saturday for a week-long excursion and emersed ourselves in the beautiful crystal blue water and white sand beaches of Cancun, Mexico. Along with yoga, trapeze, lazy days on the beach, dancing and cocktails it was the perfect way to escape the chaos from back home and hit the reset button.
When life starts to feel overwhelming, sometimes you have to do something that will take you out of the mind swirl. Going for a walk in nature, taking a road trip to explore a new town for the day, enjoying a hot bath or getting together with quality friends are all great ways to clear the air and start fresh.
