Laughter is Medicine – Yoga with Meditation Mutha

I have not been to a comedy show in years. So, I was so excited when my friend Lisa suggested we check out Joe Rogan’s Comedy Mothership in Austin.

First of all, the venue is super cool and intimate, so every seat in the house is great. We saw two opening acts and the headliner and they were all freak’in hilarious! I was literally rolling with laughter as tears ran down my face.

It felt so good to have a real belly laugh and it appeared that others felt the same way. As I looked around the room while we were leaving, everyone seemed to be in a great mood.

It’s no wonder why the crowd seemed so chipper. Laughter can help lessen stress, decrease depression and make you feel happier all around. In addition, it turns on dopamine, your “feel good” hormone to enhance mood.

The average adult laughs 17 times per day, while a child laughs more than 300 times per day. When you compare these statistics, it is obvious that adults should invite more laughter into their lives for overall health and well-being.

Would you like some giggle inspiration? Scroll down and come join me for this week’s short 3 minute Laughter Yoga practice and welcome a real belly laugh into your day. Plus you get to hear my very “unique” laugh, which I have been told is very contagious! Haha!
