    Acknowledging Your Current Mental State – Yoga with Meditation Mutha

    It’s been a little over five months since my dad passed away and I have been experiencing all the emotions that come with mourning. Lately I have been feeling down. I know that depressed emotions are all part of the mourning process, but it is challenging none-the-less.

    We all have experienced times in our lives when we are stuck in a funk. Whether it is due to a loss or for no apparent reason at all, waves of emotions are just part of the human condition.

    The good thing is that we are all born with a special tool to help regulate our emotions; our breath. Working with the breath can enhance our spirit or relax our mind when we need it most. Lengthening the inhale is very invigorating, while lengthening the exhale is calming.

    Working with the breath to regulate our emotions is very empowering, because we have the tools within to bring balance back into our lives.
    This week’s simple yoga class will assist you in revitalizing your life force in both body and mind.

    YOGA FOR DEPRESSION

    This week’s short 10-minute floor yoga class, Yoga for Depression, is all about observing your current mental state and moving towards lightening the heaviness. Through Breath of Fire, Heart Openers and other energizing postures, we will journey on a path to releasing some of the emotional burdens that way us down. Yoga with Meditation Mutha is for everyBODY.
