This past Monday I was feeling unusually emotional. I sat down for a few minutes to contemplate the source and could not come up with a specific reason as to why I was feeling down.
Maybe it is the heaviness in the air with the devastation that is happening in the Ukraine. The senseless destruction and loss of life has been weighing on my mind lately.
Our bodies are sponges that soak up the energies of the world. No wonder if you are feeling a little blue or scattered lately with all the chaos that is happening around us.
One of the areas in the body that is most effected by trauma is our hips. We store unprocessed emotions in this area. This may appear as tightness or soreness in and around the hips.
Emotions are just energy in motion. They are meant to be felt, acknowledged, processed and moved through and out the body. When we hold on to these emotions, they can manifest as physical and mental ailment.
So, based on the heightened emotional state of the planet, I thought I would offer a yoga class that provides an opportunity to open the hips and release any energy that no longer serves you. Enjoy!
